Telescopic technology belongs to the field of removable prosthetics. It combines good aesthetics with high functionality. Telescopic abutments can replace one tooth or several. Visible retaining elements such as clasps are unnecessary, so the restoration is not recognisable as such.

The denture is a combination of fixed and removable prosthetics and is anchored to the existing teeth by telescopic abutments (double crowns). The telescopic abutment consists first of a cap that is cemented onto the prepared tooth and protects it. A second crown is then fitted over each cap, and the removable denture is attached to these.

Attractive aesthetics, good comfort and the ease with which the restoration can be extended if further teeth are lost are the advantages of this solution. The drawback is the extra space the telescopic abutments need, which can mean the palate is partly covered.
