Statutory health insurers in Germany require one check-up a year if members want to make use of the bonus scheme for prosthetic work; under a complicated set of rules, two examinations a year are also covered.
Most dental practices in Germany, Austria and Switzerland work by appointment. This means an appointment has to be arranged, and it has the decisive advantage that there is normally hardly any waiting. Emergencies are of course exempt from prior appointments.
